These are my absolute favorite bars. I always take them to potlucks and they disappear fast! They are dense and very chocolaty-just perfect! They are very easy to make and you will only need one large mixing bowl to mix the batter.
Ingredients:
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 T. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips (this may seem like a lot of chocolate chips, but that’s what makes these bars so delicious)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease an 8x8-inch square baking pan. Cream butter and brown sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and mix well. Add flour and baking soda, mixing well to combine. Fold in chocolate chips and mix again. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool and cut into bars. Store in an airtight container.
Enjoy!
